Learning at Home

The most effective Chinese homework for the student's to be doing at will be Chinese literacy.  I like to use a simple, but fun website called Quizlet.  Many of you have probably used this before, but I will go over it here so everyone is on the same page.

  •    Quizlet is a website that allows people to create and share interactive flashcards.  The flashcards have pronunciation, games, and even tests already prepared.  It saves a lot of time for the teacher and is pretty fun for the students.
  • We have a Quizlet Class setup for our Spring Lane 5th grade Chinese Immersion class
  • Once you are signed up I will be able to see how your students are performing on games and tests.  It is also fun, because students can compete for the high score on games.  I recommend SpaceRace.  If you prefer to work off the computer to reduce screen time or your time is limited with computer access you can also print the flashcards out.
  • As a sample, I have three cards up there called the changes in matter, which is part of our Science curriculum.
